NEWFOTOSCAPES tours to the South West
29th January 2015
IC Visual Lab, Bristol, UK
Bristol holds some truly wonderful memories for me, it introduced me to the amazing world of Photography and Video, influenced and guided by Professor Jon Dovey (although not officially, he was very much my mentor in the early days), Professor Liz Wells amongst many others including Nancy Honey and the occasional visit from the infamous Martin Parr. Bristol, in the 90’s (yes the home of the phenomenon that is Massive Attack) was a genuine hive of activity for photography and film creatives and it was the place it my professional career began, collaborating with Tim MacMillan (founder of Time Slice Films) and Andrew Kemp (pinhole photographer extraordinaire, now award winning film maker) in the production of a range of early Time Slice films for the BBC and a crazy commercial for Capital FM directed by the late Frank Budgen.
