We are delighted to invite you to the book launch and panel discussion on NEWFOTOSCAPES on Tuesday 29 April 2014 7.00-8.30pm The Library of Birmingham.
(Invitation only – please rsvp by 22 April to firstname.lastname@example.org)
NEWFOTOSCAPES seeks to navigate the evolving topography surrounding the image in the twenty-first century, offering a focused eye on the contemporary creative author-curator and image-maker and on the possibilities afforded by an increasingly complex professional landscape. Jonathan advocates a new way of thinking about photographic production and education in a post-digital era.
The event will include a panel discussion led by Jonathan Shaw which will explore some of the themes explored in the book. Jonathan will be joined by a distinguished panel including, Pete James (Curator, Photography Collections and Co-Director of GRAIN), Katrina Sluis (Curator of Digital Programmes, The Photographers’ Gallery) and Dr. Shaun Hides (Head of Media Department, Coventry University).
NEWFOTOSCAPES is a multi-platform book by Jonathan Shaw, commissioned by GRAIN at the Library of Birmingham as a research partnership, working in collaboration with Coventry University.
We hope to see you there!
