Jonathan’s summary from the Adobe Digital Media Education Summit 2012

Jonathan’s summary from the Adobe Digital Media Education Summit 2012 from CU Photography on Vimeo.

Shot and produced as a follow up to Jonathan’s ‘live’ presentation given at Adobe’s Digital Media Education Summit held in Istanbul, 11-12th July 2012. This short video seeks to provide an overview of the two talks that I presented alongside my colleague Dr. Shaun Hides.

Open Media: How to Give your Content Away for Free and Still Survive in the Contemporary University
The first talk addressed our response as individuals and as an educational institution to the paradigm shifts that the creative and media industries are currently experiencing with the rapid advancements of digital technologies.
Digital publishing: Exploring New Media and Publishing Platforms, and Establishing New Collaborations
The second session discussed and showcased our successes with app development and our recent explorations as the UK’s first University to capitalise upon Adobe’s Digital Publishing Suite. This solution places the Department of Media once again at the forefront of innovation for media education!
Note:
Apologies for the incoherent speech at times within the video. I blame the crazy busy, exciting and hectic month!
